Donate for Health and Hygiene Programs

India is a growing country, both economically as well as in population. With increase in population there is an increase in the cases of communicable diseases and other non-communicable or ‘lifestyle’ diseases. India is placed at 112th position in the healthcare index of WHO. The health conditions in rural areas are undoubtedly poor but the heath conditions in urban slums are equally terrible. Public sanitation is in the worst condition. Around 50% of the population has no access to a toilet. More than 1/3rd of the world’s malnourished children live in India. The general hygiene level is appalling. Unhygienic conditions are the primary reason for various diseases like food poisoning, diarrhea, pneumonia, skin infections and tuberculosis.  There is lack of clean water and a shortage of doctors too.

Plan to Empower’s ongoing programs in the area of healthcare include childcare, post-partum care, eye care, HIV/AIDS awareness among others. We organize free health camps, pediatric care, gynecological and free eye check-up camps and facilities. Regular awareness drives on blood donation, childcare, sanitation & hygiene, dental care, impact of safe drinking water and cleanliness are conducted as well. These camps are organized round the year. There is a need to remove the stigma that usually goes together with some of these diseases. Providing treatment and healthcare to those in need as well as providing education and awareness to those who have little or knowledge about the spread of these disease for early detection and prevention at start.
